Graphic Design

The LdM Graphic Design Department aims to build both practical and conceptual skills of future designers enabling them to integrate a command of visual language with imagination. The Department’s broad approach to the field includes graphic explorations into various media, both traditional and digital; as a result, students obtain valuable insights into the culture of aesthetic quality as they prepare for the professional sphere.

From our well-developed curriculum to our dedicated faculty, students gain professional skill sets and extend their knowledge of design with studies that range from brand identity, print, and motion graphics as well as screen-based and interactive design. Through a critical examination of the development of modern graphic design and how it relates to the historical record of human cultural development, students at LdM learn to reflect on the subject within a socio-cultural and ethical context. They also learn the power of storytelling through comics and graphic novels, empowering them to create a dialogue between words and design. With LdM’s hands-on approach, students work on a range of design, advertising, branding, and marketing projects that simulate real situations. They learn to respect budgets, adhere to timelines, build strategies and implement them while they construct a refined professional portfolio.

The Department offers internships with local agencies, giving LdM students the opportunity for hands-on practice in the Graphic Design field. Through the internship experience, students can apply their acquired knowledge to real-life situations gaining valuable professional experience. Overall, students gain the ability to make strategic decisions in a highly competitive world, read market trends and formulate dynamic, effective and successful solutions.

With a fine-tuned personal voice, individuals who follow Graphic Design as a major find careers in exciting areas such as advertising agencies, museums, publishing houses, technology companies, and nonprofits.
