Interior Design in Contemporary Living
The Interior Design in Contemporary Living Certificate focuses on developing analytical and technical skills while applying artistic and functional principles to the professional planning of interior spaces as diverse as the needs of today’s contemporary lifestyle.
The Program encourages students to explore design solutions that reflect decorative and architectural approaches, with particular attention to building code issues, space planning, and individual awareness. Students learn to address client needs, present projects professionally, and illustrate plans in 3D, with a focus on materials, effective techniques, and technologies.
Facilities provide a computer lab equipped with the latest industry software and technologies, classrooms equipped with design instruments, and a continuously updated library of books and periodicals.
CORE COURSES
• Technical Drawing – 3 credits / 45 hours
• Interior Design II – 3 credits / 90 hours
• Design for Living Spaces – 3 credits / 90 hours
TRACK COURSES
Students are required to choose two courses from the following:
• Textile Science – 3 credits / 45 hours
• Lighting Design – 3 credits / 90 hours
• Furniture Design – 3 credits / 90 hours
