Courses at LdM Tuscania
LdM Tuscania presents the ideal location for the study of Italian language and culture through its holistic approach. The curriculum is orchestrated to embrace the historical, artistic, and cultural heritage that is wholly unique to the town. Tuscania’s roots in Etruscan, Roman, and Medieval history guide the courses in art history and archaeology.
The beautiful landscape and its bounty, from vegetables to centuries-old olive groves, provide the foundation for the Organic Agriculture and Nutrition and Culinary Arts courses. The Italian language in Tuscania, less tainted with foreign influences than in the big cities, provides the perfect context for a complete and engaging learning experience.
Each summer, archaeology field school students in Tuscania participate in an ongoing excavation of an Etruscan necropolis, in collaboration with CAMNES and the University of Florence. Tuscania and its inherent quality is an integral part of the coursework offered.
