The following cost information applies to the LdM Italy Study Abroad Programs. We encourage students coming from an affiliate institution to contact their Study Abroad office regarding enrollment costs. Please be sure to read carefully all conditions regarding your selections.

Housing Costs 2025-2026: Florence
Please note: a Euro 250 housing security deposit is to be added. The LdM housing security deposit will be refunded (minus any damages) no sooner than 60 days following the conclusion of the term. In some cases, fees for special cleaning or charges for excessive utility consumption may also be deducted.
*Academic Year housing is for exact dates of programs. Students must vacate between program sessions. Students who are enrolled for the Fall semester and wish to stay for the Spring semester may store luggage/belongings between sessions. LdM will assist students in finding storage and students will pay storage providers directly on site.
**Students who stay for BOTH summer sessions will receive housing at no extra cost during the break between the two summer sessions, even if the students are attending the LdM program in two different cities. In this case, the students will spend the break always in Florence.

Please note: a €250 housing safety deposit is to be added and will be refunded to students after the end of the term if no damages are found to the apartment.

Payment and Cancellation Policies
CANCELLATION POLICY – EURO
TUITION CANCELLATION POLICIES
If an official cancellation notice is received by LdM:
- 20 days or more before the start of the term, the student will be liable for 20% of the tuition.
- 19 to 7 days before the start of the term, the student will be liable for 30% of the tuition.
- 6 days to the beginning of the term, no refund will be given.
After classes start, no refund will be due to students who do not attend or who withdraw from LdM. Fees are not transferable to other persons.
Students will receive the refund minus the cost of any transfer fees.
HOUSING CANCELLATION POLICY FOR FOR SHORT TERM PROGRAMS – 2026-2027
• Any cancellation must be communicated in a written withdrawal form which can be requested. Please remember that once the student arrives in Italy, no refund will be made for any reason whatsoever in the event of a student deciding to cancel, change or vacate an assigned accommodation.
• If a student cancels 42-25 days preceding the check-in date, the student is liable for the security deposit (€250).
• If a student cancels 24-0 days preceding the check-in date, or fails to check-in to LdM Housing, the student is responsible for the full rental amount of the accommodation and the security deposit for the entire term.
• The student will be fully liable for the total housing cost and housing deposit if no official notice of the student’s cancellation is received by LdM before check-in.
Given the costs paid to external housing providers on behalf of the students are non-recoverable, refunds beyond those outlined above are not possible, regardless of reason.
HOUSING CANCELLATION POLICY FOR SEMESTER PROGRAMS – 2026-2027
• Any cancellation must be communicated in a written withdrawal form which can be requested. Please remember that once the student arrives in Italy, no refund will be made for any reason whatsoever in the event of a student deciding to cancel, change or vacate an assigned accommodation.
• If a student cancels 76 days or MORE prior to the check-in date, the €250 security deposit and €850 of the rent payment will be refunded.
• If a student cancels 75-61 days preceding the check-in date, the student is liable for the security deposit (€250) but will be refunded the advance rent payment (€850).
• If a student cancels 60-21 days preceding the check-in date, the student is liable for the security deposit (€250) and the advance rent payment (€850).
• If a student cancels 20-0 days preceding the check-in date – or fails to check-in to LdM housing – the student is responsible for the full rental amount of the accommodation and the security deposit for the entire academic term.
• The student will be fully liable for the total housing cost and housing deposit if no official notice of the student’s cancellation is received by LdM before check-in.

refunded the full homestay payment.
• If a student cancels 75-61 days preceding the check-in date, the student is liable for
€250 of the homestay payment.
• If a student cancels 60-21 days preceding the check-in date, the student is liable for
€1.000 of the homestay payment.
• If a student cancels 20-0 days preceding the check-in date – or fails to check-in to the
assigned LdM homestay – the student is liable for the full homestay payment.
• Upon arrival in Italy, the student will not be allowed to cancel the homestay option and
will not have the right of any refund.
• The student who leaves the host will be considered as an “Independent Housing”
student and LdM will be released from any responsibility of finding another housing
arrangement for the student.
• The student will be fully liable for the total homestay cost if no official notice of the
student’s cancellation is received by LdM before check-in date.
