The vertical ones are in metal, while the horizonal in natural wood. This allows a great variety of possible compositions. Keeping the exhibit body very miniamal and clean. His art is very loud and it is the centerpiece so you do not want to overpower it. The use of black and white and no color so the art is the only focal point in each space. His collection of shapes in his paintings are fascinating and I want to allow those to be the structures or peices besides the art in the exhibit to make each visitor feel as if they are in the painting or a part of it. Using each section of the exhibit as a blank canvas and creating an experience just as Stuat Davis did with his work. This involves having furniture that is able to be transformed into something else. For example, a movable bookshelf that hides a table or chairs. Flexibility reduces the time necessary to transform the space for events or making room for new products, whether that be food, artisan crafts, or books. The community and the customers are the focus of the space, so a flexible space helps caters to their needs and the businesses. Cohesiveness With at least four different uses at a time, the design must be cohesive in the material choices and fixtures to ensure it does not overwhelm the space. If there are too many competing textures and materials, it takes away from the products and the atmosphere of the Autofficina. Lighting and floor changes can help distinguish different spaces in a subtle, but effective way to divide the uses. Also by having an industrial feel throughout the space, there is a connection between the different uses and fixtures.
