Often when evaluating Neo-Futura is the future extrapolated in an ideological lens, undermining the inevitable leaps to achieve such renovation. This fallacy was seen best during the space race era, where the majority believed the forthcoming of an industrial revolution would exponentially advance civilization into a society characterized by space art. Also, we remain a mere 50 years later with a trajectory far off from the stars or the moon, but with an opportunity to reimagine a futuristic civilization, one that emphasizes longevity. Clairvoyant Chatel entertains the tether inflicted on the masses when the conscious expansion is at its height, and the pendulum that regulates captivity of the mind retaining capitalistic agendas. The catharsis of the collection portrays the necessary civilization we must become before we cross into an interstellar body, by reestablishing the vital necessity for Earthly priority and connection. Here, we aim to harness the current consumer narrative and refocus attention on the reappropriation of textiles, beginning with landfill upcycling. Visually, this draws an ecologically stable narrative with rustic aestheticism enriched with sedimentary tonal values and transparent staples, allowing for optimal functionality and wardrobe versatility.
